A recent agreement with a leading global battery manufacturer claims the originally planned production capacity in Europe. To keep up the fast pace, Gränges is now investing in doubling its capacity in Finspång, Sweden, to meet the growing demand for battery components in Europe. This new capacity is scheduled to come online as early as 2025.

The slitting and winding of the cathode foil will be performed on a Kampf TechSlitter. This machine concept is based on many years of experience in the field of machines for aluminium foil processing and anode/cathode technologies. The solution provider from Wiehl/Germany is a leader in the field of slitting and winding technology and introduced machines for modern energy concepts early on, which are in production worldwide. The TechSlitter enables rewind diameters up to 800 mm and slitting widths from 200 mm. With a slitting process that slit the foil almost particle-free. The machine can be equipped with all measuring systems required for battery foil production. It goes without saying that a Kampf machine is a solution that would be thought of in the age of Industry 4.0. This machine meets all the necessary requirements and is the perfect machine for processing battery foil and fulfils the high demands of Gränges and their customers.

At the beginning of March, the first Kampf TechSlitter successfully went into production in Finspång - as planned and executed jointly by the project teams.
